A Better Place LLC was incorporated in November 2006 as a real estate investment entity.  The company’s vision is to touch the world through real estate solutions focusing on the needs of those who struggle with a place to live.  Its mission is three fold:

 

1.      Provide solutions to those in distressed situations that maintain dignity.

2.      Provide better housing to those transitioning from renters-to-owners and those transitioning from foreclosure back into homeownership.

3.      Lead the movement in central Virginia to educate its citizens about smart homeownership principles.

Colette D. Rivers, a native of Petersburg, VA, started her real estate investment journey in 2000.  She has practical experience with project management, construction contract management, light electrical work, rehabbing, wholesaling, property management, and pre-foreclosures.

Her formal education accomplishments are a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University  in 1992 and a M.B.A. from Averett University in 2006.

Ms. Rivers’ personal mission is “To be a source of inspiration for those seeking to become someone better by breaking out of life-strangling habits.” Through the creation of A Better Place LLC, she is able to realize her mission on a daily basis.  Initially unable to identify local Real Estate mentors, she uses her experience and network to foster success in those seeking to become Real Estate investors through access to tools, mentors, and a sustainable business opportunity.
